It think it VERY unfair for a rider to get docked for having a
recheck...especially on a CTR....

On the East, it is not uncommon to ask for a re-check..the SECOND reading is
used..even if higher.  THAT is the penalty!!!

A stethoscope reading can ONLY be lower by a few beats (insignificant on ER,
critical on CTR)...and it can ONLY be lower because of the integration time
factor on the heartcheck...NOT because they read higher..they DO NOT..they
read FAR more accurately than a person with a stethoscope.

Perhaps most of you who are unhappy with the heartcheck have been having the
good fortune of having pulse-takers that mis-count...........food for
thought.  The heartcheck IS accurate..MORE accurate than a human being.
