I know that the Championship Ride & Tie calculates its date dependent upon the
Western States 100 Run and Ride each year,  and included the ROC in planning when
that event was being held in the Western States. Picking a reasonable date is
important. Does the ride HAVE to be qualified for? Why don't we let everyone come
and race and let the best horse of the day(s) get the glory.

How about a two day 200? Or a three day 200? Fifty miles a day and the last day a
100? That would really weed out the newcomers!!  AND it would differentiate the
AERC event from all of the other things happening out there....
