Re: Good farrier needed

"Just a trim"? Why do people belittle trims? (Just having a little fun,
Tamara!) But seriously, we hear that from people all the time as if a trim
isn't important. A "good" farrier will balance that hoof and get all 4 in
sync with the rest of the horse and make them look like a million
bucks...well, ok, you get my drift! But don't ever underestimate the value
of a proper trim job! One bad trim can ruin a horse for a long time or
worst case scenario, forever! Babies are especially important during those
growth spurts. A farrier can do a lot from birth to about 18 months to
correct a lot of problems with legs and feet and trims shouldn't be
neglected. We give first baby trims free to encourage our clients to start
early (2 weeks to 2 months depending on the foal...ideal for us is about
one month of age) and keep them on schedule. Good luck! Try
www.horseshoes.com. You might post a request there on a bulletin board for
a farrier in your area and they have great articles on finding a good
farrier and keeping him once you find him!
