ringbone



Linda is correct in the types of ringbone and some not causing any 
problems.  An App mare I had many years ago, was lame and x-rays taken 
showed some ringbone which the vet said was not the cause of the present 
lameness and would probably never cause her a problem.  It never did, 
but you could see the build up of bone? on the outside of the foot. The 
lameness turned out to be a very strange abscess that when healed the 
mare was sound and I used her until she died suddenly at age 17.  Louise
