 2.5 yrs ago my gelding came up lame and I took him to Auburn U in AL
and had the vets check him out. They xrayed him too and said he has
ringbone on the L fore. To make a very long but good in the end story.
He ended up having a blown suspensory in the L rear and has been on
pasture for 2 years and is being ridden again with no lameness.

I'd have your friend get at least one more respected opinion by a noted
lameness expert. I spent a lot of money on cosequin for ringbone that
isn't there and a 7 shot series of adequan at $75 a shot!

Get lots of opinions and read up on the diagnoses.
