crops



I very rarely carry a crop.  The only time I do is when riding in a big
group of stable buddies, as my gelding has an attitude about being
passed sometimes and forgets that that is not acceptable.  I don't
object to judicial use of one, but do agree that if carrying it it's
easier to rely on it.  But then again, that depends on the individual.
I've found that the best response for shying is to laugh at him...
