USA East
The USA East Benefit Ride was held this weekend in the beautiful pine barrens
of New Jersey. To add to the usual craziness of an endurance ride the
National Guard missed the bombing range and set the forest on fire five miles
from the ride site. 10,000 acres burned which is a terrible loss. I was
assured that I would be notified if there was any danger to our camp - which
there wasn't but it still made for some uneasyness as ashes fell and the sky
darkened and glowed.
Thanks to ridecamp I had some wonderful help - introducing them to endurance
riding at its finest :) Julie and Cindy you were great. Rick Stewart
pitching in at the last moment to Vet was heaven sent. Julie Bullock and
Meg Sleeper working their toes off !! Jeanie Waldron not only won and
received best condition for her new horse but in between completing and
standing for BC treated a horse .
Of course all the USA East people and the many other volunteers a big THANKS
And the wonderful help from NJTRA Association and its members who I couldn't
of done this without. Last but not least the 56 horse rider teams who
came to support us by riding the 50/25.
I will post the full results tomorrow but if you finished You Won !
Patti and Sam (and Staten who finished with Ellen)
