flexible or not?
How about adding one more person to the list of people on the "perfect
saddle search".
Last year was my first full season of LD's. I used a Big Horn saddle and I
thaught I was doing pretty good. No sore back, no dry spots, good vet
scores etc. When I started conditioning this spring, I discovered dry spots
on each side below the withers. There still is no soreness in the back and
since the horse is grey, no change in hair color. I have tried thin pads,
thick pads, I even tried my old western saddle but the dry spots remain.
He did not get fat over the winter and I suspect that his back changed with
conditioning.
I am now ready to bite the bullet and buy a new saddle. After reading alot
of saddle info in the archieves, I am considering a Boz, Sharon Saare and
Synergist. So far, the favorite is the Synergist. I will be able to try out
a Boz next week. I am torn about getting a saddle with a "flexible" tree or
not. Since my budget is not unlimited, I want to make the right choice.
What's your opinion? Flexible or not?
This may be an old issue to some, so e-mail me privately if you wish.
Thanks for your help,
Jutta (anybody wanna buy a Big Horn?)
