What we in Central Region have encountered, and I can't help but believe
it exists in each region, is that each Vet scores the vet portion of the
current BC form in his/her own way. There aren't any rules for the Vets
to do this scoring. Example: Vet A may score the presenting horses
against the ideal horse and use a high range of figures (no horse
receives a figure lower than 7), while Vet B may score the presenting
horses against themselves and use the full range of 1-10. Nothing wrong
with this except it is not consistent.
This could explain why your pony did not place better in the BC
standing.

BTW, my friend, Sylvia Fant, competes on Blue Sky Raider, a pony. They
won BC at Cougar Prowl this year and Blue had a perfect Vet Score (500).
He is 18 years old this year, but you would not have known it to watch
him at this ride.

Linda Parrish,
who has to quit reading Ridecamp early today so I can go wash my F350
truck & trailer w/LQ. Wouldn't want to go time the Dry Creek Cattle Call
ride this weekend with a dirty truck & trailer! :)
