USET, Int'l Competition Questions

Greetings ridecampers,
I'm writing an endurance column for a local horse paper and the editors
want a "USET spin". Can someone tell me in what year the USET adopted
endurance riding as one of its official disciplines? For extra credit,
how many US riders competed in Dubai this past November, how many
completed, and how many are expected to go to the Pan American
Championships this summer?
Any facts and figures anyone wants to throw this way with regard to
international competition would be welcome.
