She wasn't riding in first, she was at the back of a group of 4-5.  She
came in 3 or 4 but her horse's pulse came down first.  She has excellent
trail manners - waits at water holes, doesn't ride up too close to the
horse ahead, tries to point out turns to everyone.  I wasn't there so I
can't say she was perfectly behaved (I know my horse isn't) but I also know
the group that was being nasty to her and it is not the first time.  That
was not the point of my post, though.  I just think we all need to remember
to have good trail manners no matter where we run in the pack, first or
last.
