Trail Advocacy

Vickie, In our local club we acknowledge the fact that some people would
rather donate $$$ than to work on trails or attend meetings. By the same
token, those who cannot afford to donate $$$ usually are more than eager to
get out and donate labor or attend meetings, (letting Land Managers know that
there is an equestrian presence).   However, in the AERC situation it is going
to take $$$ to let our presence be known and  I would like to see a fund for
this.  Before I joined AERC, I went to a lot of meetings and held a position
on the state Horse Council, it always bothered me when we were unable to get
support from the AERC for trail causes.  The whole sport of
Endurance/Competitive is based on trails, If we don't fight for them we are
going to lose them.
