Re: HCC/More about Razifa

For those interested in Hyannis pedigrees, here is a bit more about the mare
Razifa. She is the dam of Donna Fitzgerald's great gelding Witezarif, who has
already been mentioned in several posts. She is also the dam of Hal Hall's
great gelding El Karbaj, who has also been mentioned. In addition, she is the
dam of Hanne Hollander's great gelding Law-Thunder, who was, among other
things, AERC National Champion. All three of these great geldings are by
different sires. Witezarif's sire was Witezar, who was by *Witez II and out
of a straight CMK mare named Gezana, who was by the Antez son Gezan (shows up
in lots of great endurance pedigrees, including all of the Las Trad
descendants, etc.) and out of the Alla Amarward daughter Alleyna. All pretty
much reads like a Who's Who endurance pedigree. El Karbaj was sired by
Kosciusko, who was also by *Witez II and out of another "Patton Polish" mare,
*240 Koheilan VIII-5. Law-Thunder was sired by Al-Marah Thunder, a straight
CMK horse by Naharin (Gulastra x *Rimini [Skowronek x Rim, by *Astraled]) and
out of Al-Marah Bint Indraff (Indraff x Selfra, who was by the Naseem son
*Selmian and out of *Rose of France).

Razifa also had several daughters that produced very well for Hyannis, so her
influence went on to several future generations...
