Sierra Club, How to be involved?

Hi left blank on purpose: I do not know where you reside or what your issues/concerns are. I
will attempt to give you a generic answer and will be happy to expand when I
know what your specific request/issue may be.

If you have an interest in a issue/action that is being talked about.
1.Contact the Agency/person that is proposing the "PROJECT">this is what the
action will be associated to.
2. Request a copy of the "Project Description" and request to be placed on
the Mailing List for the "Project" and request to be notified in writing of
any proposed MEETINGS so that you as a "STAKEHOLDER>a person or group that
will/may be affected" will have the opportunity to take part in the
political process. If it is a Federal action you will have to file as a
"Intervener>which means you have, by filing for this status assured your
LEGAL options. If you do not file for this status, you do not have any
recourse in the decision making process. Your comments and concerns may be
ignored even if they are revenant and significant.
3. Anytime you take part in the system you must always be prepare to
challenge the action, with out INTERVENER STATUS you will not be able to
effectively take part in the process unless you have an "IN" or are apart of
a group that has this status.
4. All of you comments should be submitted in the form of a question. NOT
just I think your project stinks>example.
5. You should personally attend meetings and speak with the Lead Agency that
is proposing the action.
6. If you rely on other people/friends/clubs/associations to speak for you ,
you must request, that you be provided with a full written text of what will
be drafted and finally approved.
I have had encounters where I have been told one thing by the above and the
actions would have been very changed from what I had been told.
