1999 AERC CHAMPIONSHIP RIDE

Those ridecamp members who are also members of AERC may have read in the
September issue of Endurance News that AERC, beginning in the 1999 Ride
Season, will have a National Championship 50 & 100 Mile Ride, sanctioned
for
mid August. The location is in the Lincoln National Forest of New
Mexico. The Championship will use some of the TIMBERON 5 DAY trails and
will take place about a month after the TIMBERON Ride. This ride will
replace the AERC National Series Championship.

To qualify to enter this ride you must finish Top Ten in the 50 or 100 at
a Regional Qualifying Ride. The nine Regional Qualifying Rides will be
announced in the October issue of Endurance News and in all subsequent
issues. The NATIONAL HORSE SPORTS FOUNDATION is the main sponsor of the
Championship Ride and all other AERC National Sponsors will be
participating as well.

The trails are established/proven and will definitely be Championship
quality. Base Camp is in the village of Timberon, NM located in the
heart of the Lincoln National Forest at an elevation of 7,000 feet.
Trails go up to just under 10,000 feet. Cabins, Condos, and other
rentals are available and most amenities are within walking distance of
Base Camp, including a pool, golf course, hiking, trout fishing, RV Park,
etc. Within an easy drive are White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad
Caverns, Ruidoso Downs Race Track and the Museum of the Horse.
