suspensory ligament

Hi Pat,
I thought i'd tell you a story about a horse belonging to a friend of ours.
The mare tramped through a piece of corrugated iron and completly severed
the hind suspensory ligament. The vet had to join the two pieces together.
The vets advise to her was stable rest for six months. After a few days she
decided to walk her horse, gradually increasing the time each day. A year
later she completed a 100 miler and has gone on to complete the 300 miler
twice.
