Yep,

That huge scar on Desert Ballad's hip was from a Selenium injection. 
Somehow a foreign body...I think it was the one that causes "Blackleg??"
in cattle got in.  Took him a year to even be ridable.  It was a miracle
that they saved him.  He won the ROC after that.
