No VS Outbreak in NM

There is a rumor coming out of Texas that there is a VS outbreak in New
Mexico. THIS IS NOT TRUE!    NM, AZ, and probably W. Texas has occasional
VS every year, it is  endemic to the SW.  NM has two incidents of VS this
year and the premises are isolated and several 100 miles apart.  The 1st
case will have its quarantine lifted on June 23rd and the second location
is near the AZ border and has several weeks to run before lifting the
quarantine.  Contrary to misinformation, VS quarantines are for the
subject premises, only.  So, if the location is on 1/2 acre, then the 1/2
acre is quarantined, and so on.  If you have questions, check with your
local Vet.
