Helmet, gelding,AERC

Hi Connie; Thanks for your earlier reply and suggestions. I have been
riding for 4 years, on my own horse, and many years at rental places,
twice-a-year-kinda-thing. Your helmet suggestion is taken to heart. After
reading your note I decided to go for a ride, my first one with a helmet on.
It was 95 degrees here in Fl, and I noticed the helmet at first, until I got
out of the corral. Then old Billie was so full of beans he just wanted to
canter all the time, that I didn't even notice I had a helmet on. I suppose
someone makes nice comfortable hats that are good, and STAY comfortable on
long rides. Would you recommend a brand name or style and source? Here in
Florida we never ride in cold weather so it won't need to be insulated.
"Cool and white" is the only description I notice when I read about helmets.
Thanks for all the replies about my soon-to-be-fixed colt. Someone said
there will be some nursing care involved. And someone said to wait for
cooler weather, like next winter, so there wont be so much sweat or flies
involved. I suppose the vet will be able to set me straight with these
ideas.
Almost every day Ridecamp has some mention of a ride going on somewhere
or a great campground to stay at. As a newbie on here, I have no earthly
clue even what state these events are in, so it would be nice if those
posts mentioned the city and state. Thanks.
Well, thanks again for all your help. Also, Connie, I have applied for
AERC membership papers.
