Re: Mexico Smoke

The 'authorities' here in Tx put out a notice to not go out in it and
exercise. All those with respiratory problems were told to stay inside.
Last weekend at Reserves in Houston, our physical training was
cancelled--ie no 2 mile runs, situps or pushups. Personally, I haven't had
any problems. Last week I had to work outside repairing the ac
ducting-what a yuk job-and it took some physical effort, but I had no
problems. I haven't tried to run in it yet, but may have to as I must run
2 miles in 3 weeks. Suggest you try to run or ride hard for a short time
and see if it is bothersome. But anyone with allergies may as well pack it
in. My animals don't seem bothered but have not been riding hard in it.
Those that live in So CA get used to it. To me it ddoesn't look any worse
than the smog of So CA. We just have never had it here in E Tx. But then
all you in Ca have stolen our rain and given us your smog and drought! LOL
Hard to really say who will react to the smoke and who won't. Personally,
if I had any respriatory problems at all I would not do the ride. just

The smoke cover has hit SW New Mexico and Tall Pines is 3 days away.
I'd like to know if there is any harm running a horse 55 miles with the
smoke so thick the sun is completely blocked out? The elevation is
between 7000 to 9500 ft.
A worried rider....
