Re: feeding schedules




I, personally, am of the opinion that there is nothing worse for a horse
(mentally speaking) than to be fed on a strict schedule...and probably
physically speaking for an endurance horse, who must eat as opportun;ity
arises, not on some preset schedule.

My horses free feed on grass hay (pretty much) and get whatever
supplements I give them, whenever I am there to give it to them which
could vary anywhere from 6 am to 10 pm.

At rides, they always have hay in front of them when they are tied to the
trailer along with a smorgasborg (sp?) of whatever else I am giving them.
