Re: LD question

I usually lurk but would like to respond to Stephanie's comment about CTRs.
I haven't ridden NATRC - I don't think they even have them here in Vermont- and
hopefully will do an endurance ride this year for the first time. But for the
past 3 years I've ridden CTRs under ECTRA. We don't have "obstacles" and we're
able to corral our horses or put them in stalls if available. I really enjoy
these rides and for me have been a great way to start in this business of
"distance riding". I guess all CTRs aren't the same.

Carol Bushway-Boardman in Vermont, Mayflower (the hopeful endurance Morgan) and
Buster (starting a distance driving career in 3 weeks).

I would like to comment on this as someone who did many years of NATRC, started
LD and graduated to endurance. I will not EVER go back to CTR because of the
'obstacles' and human judging!!!!! While appropriate in some
cases, these 'obstacles' often put the riders AND the horses through undue,
unnecessary, and unlikely stressful situations. I also do not believe that
it is important to have all horse tied a certain way
