Electrolyte question

When mixing up your store bought any kind of electrolytes in a syringe to
be given at the vet check, how much do I use.  The usual doseage is 1 oz in
his feed 2 x's a day, so do I put 1oz mixed up in the syringe too, even if
I've given him his daily ration in his feed????
