One of the most important things you can do , if not the most
important thing, espically for the first time foam users, is to put a
substantial amount of a petroleum base lubricant (such as vasoline) all
around the hoof area where it makes contact with any hair. This will prevent
the foam from sticking to the hair line, which can cause many problems. I
even saw a horse that came up lame until they cut the hair away from the foam.
