I, too, have used the Easyboots over shoes, but I tend not to use them all the
time--more just for specific rides, or even specific sections of rides.  Like
Roger, I prefer them without the foam.  I have not had a problem with getting
debris in them, but also check them regularly.  If I am suspicious, it is a
simple matter to pop one off and check.
