Re: t-shirts/New Topic

There were a lot of good suggestions on the list re:t-shirts... I only get
the digest in the morning, so I am always 24 hours behind everyone else. On
the other hand, by the time I get caught up, the flaming is over and the
conversations are reasonable. I always like to look for a silver lining...

I do like Angie's (the AERC/calvary remark) the best for a t-shirt. That's
not too offensive for those who are uncomfortable with the "lunatic fringe"
- which is how a group of us referred to ourselves since we "pack" (mine is
my lunch :-) Okay, to avoid getting kicked out of the LF, it's IN my lunch.
Botulism as a weapon). I'm just kidding! I'm learning to run a disclaimer
with my posts: please don't panic - there is no lunatic fringe!! Well, if
there is one, it's a secret society and the only way you know it's us is
the lump in our cheeks and these t-shirts we wear...

And, I thought another topic for those of us who will be home and not
competing this weekend: do you pick a ride coz of awards - by that I mean,
the coolest t-shirt you have ever seen. Anita Burson described her Hunters
Run t-shirt and let me tell you, Anita, that's a t-shirt I want too! Robin
Kurtz's Paradise Cup t-shirt was great too. I was unable to attend so she
mailed me one, what a friend!. Hmm, could this be a way to get new clothes?
Ride managers, mail me your ride t-shirts and I will evaluate them then
post to the list... I should have thought of this years ago. Then I can use
my clothes allowance for ride entries... Forget the entry descriptions of
terrain, vets, parking, rules - simply picture your t-shirt design.

Of course, we endurance riders wouldn't attend a ride for the awards - of
course, we are too high minded for that, but isn't it true we all have a
very favorite t-shirt we won at a ride? And there's always a good story
attached.

Let's hear 'em.

Cathy
