I hate to be the one to tell you this, but, IMO, you need to look at the Ford
diesel. I got mine ('93 ext. cab, deisel, dually) for $12500. No powerstroke.
I love it. I went from a Subaru wagon (tiny) to this big truck and will never
go back. I have two 18 gal fuel tanks and get 18 mpg pulling a 30 foot, 4
horse with 12' LQ. (Older medal modeI) get the same mpg if I'm not pulling
anything. Parking is a little more difficult, don't need two spaces, but
you'll get used to it and you'll love the extra power, milage, and room
inside. BTW, I pulled our large trailer with a '97 F350 Powerstroke before
buying the regular deisel, and it wasn't enough of a difference to pay extra
for! I love chevys, I love the look of them, but sorry, they just don't come
close to the power and fuel efficency. One previous post talked about stopping
for gas every 100 miles! I can't afford that! I go about 500 miles between
fill ups.

You can't special order one with a bigger tank either. I have called
all over trying to get an idea of how much it would be to add on a
10 gallon tank, or replace with a bigger one. I can't find anyone
that will add a gas tank. Does anyone out there (in California) know
anyone that will do this? It's more difficult here, because of all
the extra smog stuff (there is some sort of re-circulating of gas
vapors.) Any suggestions would be appreciated! (I'm located in the
Bay Area, but I'll travel if needs be!)
