Easyboot shock absorption

>were splintered! The vet said it was from riding on hard ground. My
farrier says trotting on hard ground can cause laminitis. I wonder if any
tests or experiments have been done to determine how well Easyboots cushion.

Hi Patty: Riding on hard ground can cause all sorts of problems. You
really need to go slow to build up a horse to going over that type of
terrain. I read a report once that stated that going over hard packed dirt
caused just as much concussion to a horse as going over pavement.

Easyboots will/do definitely help with absorbing shock and concussion to
the horse, yet they won't take the place of a good long term conditioning
program.

I choose to use easyboots on both of my horses for all endurance rides. My
farrier and vet both also highly recommend the use of easyboots. You have
to make a few modifications to make them suitable for distance riding. I
cannot even begin to explain how beneficial I feel the boots have been for
my horses....they protect them from stone bruises, improve traction, absorb
concussion to the horses feet, lower legs, etc., and IMO are helping the
horses maintain their long term soundness to do lots of miles over
difficult and sometimes very hard/rocky terrain.

Happy Trails,
