Outlaw Trail '98 --Picture Links
Nat and I are back from last week's Outlaw Trail Ride in Utah. We took some
pictures with the digital camera and have loaded a few out on our website. If
you have never ridden the Southern Utah area (Bryce Canyon, etc.) here's a few
teasers:

Nat on MuNiqui the afternoon before the start of the Ride at Teasdale
base camp.
2. http://www.foothill.net/natalies/images/outlaw/otday1.jpg
Taken from one of the high passes (~10,000ft) looking East. The farthest
ridge is probably some 200mi in the distance.

We had diesel problems (3 bad glowplugs) on day two. Nat skipped riding
for the day so we could drive on to Escalante for repairs. We took these
two shots from "Hell's Backbone," a divide between two canyons that
is barely wide enough on top for the road.

A shot of some "hoodoo" outcroppings near the finish of the day 3 ride.
This ride is an incredible challenge, but the scenery AND the people who present
it (Crockett & Sharon Dumas) make it truely wonderful. This is endurance riding
at its best, an experience we will carry with us always.
Nat went on to finish four of the five days, 210 miles in all. We rode together
on the last 50, my not having to move the rig that day. It was really cool to
ride down through those redrock canyons on horseback. Absolutely awesome.
