I understand your point, but again it goes back to "know your horse" some
horses I believe benefit from continued competition, and others would
fall apart. I certainly would not drastically increase the competitive
level, but would not quit competing, either, if the mare was in good
health and spirits. It all depends on the animal, and the dedication of
the rider, IMHO.
