I heartily endorse Jan's saddle covers, and have ridden many thousands of
miles in my red (black on the inside) custom made cover. I've been buying
at least a half dozen a year in both English and Western styles to replace
ones worn on the 40 + saddles used in my riding vacation business; they've
steadily improved in the 15 years I've been buying them. My saddle covers
are used every day during the dry season, ridden in the sun, sand, and surf
for 6-8 hours daily. They wash up beautifully, the Kodel colors absolutely
do not fade (red dye on real wool does fade over the years), and they keep
my saddles looking terrific. And yes, the riders love them! If a rider has
brought her own saddle on a riding vacation, she usually ends up borrowing
one of my "Jan's Saddle Covers" before the week is over, and begs me to sell
it to her before she leaves.

Jan makes custom designed covers for any style/size saddle, but has many of
the commonly requested colors/styles in stock for immediate shipment. Even
custom made...she's fast. She absolutely stands behind her product......but
I can't imagine anyone not being satisfied.

I suppose you are wondering how long they last? Well, my stable probably
gives the covers as hard a test as they are ever subjected to .....and they
last for many, many years. Note, hang your stirrup leathers inside the
cover, or else the leather will cut through the fabric eventually. If you
prefer your leathers on the outside, also buy stirrup leather fleece covers.
Don't worry about the bulk...they soon squish down where you need them to,
while still offering protection. I haven't found the black or other dark
colors to be hot in the sun , either. One consideration, tho....if you get
caught in the rain, you'll be sitting on a wet sponge for the rest of your
ride! (I keep a large plastic garbage bag in my pommel bag in the rainy
season to cover the saddle cover while I have lunch)
