Actually the health certificate has to be within 30 days to enter FL. You
can get an Equine Event Permit which extends a health certificate for six
months for movement of horses between GA, FL and AL.

A health certificate is different from a Coggins. It is a separate
certificate filled out by a vet and is good for 30 days after the date on
the certificate.

By the way, FL strictly enforces this regulation. You cannot cross the
Swannee River without going through AN Ag station. If you are pulling a
trailer - full or empty - you must stop. If you don't they will go after
you and bring you back. If you do not have a health certificat for each
horse, then you do not go on. They will call a vet for you but you pay for
it and I have heard it is very expensive.

They will sometimes come out and check the horse's marking to make sure it
is the correct horse. I have even had them demand that I get a horse out
and take off the leg wraps. I put my foot down at that point and said that
I would, but by ordering me to do so the state of FL accepted all
responsibility of getting a horse off a trailer at busy weight station on I
95 and that if anything happened I assured the officier that I would own
the state of FL. I was told to go on at that point.
