In a message dated 97-10-07 14:20:42 EDT, you write:

<< I told her that I had inquired some time
back as to why there were not prorated dues and was told that they
couldn't do that with the computer program that they were using. >>
Software? This is simple math. What software do you use at teh office? I have
2 programs that prorate my fees. The package of bookkeeping software was
about $60. Hmmm.

I just can't emphasize enought to the AERC office how astounding it is that
no one there considers the offensive felings at this kind of action - adding
fees without general information dispensed, opinions requested and
ultimately, a popular and informed vote. This is just not right. Is this a
small scale IRS?? It FEELS that way. This may be quite a bargain - I don't
know - you have given us no information. And like the gov't, who spends and
spends our money and pleads poverty, then taxes us higher, it is a feeling of
uninformed impotence that is feeding a real resentment for these apparently
secretly instigated increases. Even my phone company polls its customers
before it goes ahead and raises our rates. I hvae to go close my mouth - it
has been ajar in wonder...
