To Finish is To win..

Just a comment...

"To Finish is To win" To me, I am competing against the clock, the
trail conditions, my own strengths and weaknessess in training and
conditioning my horse and myself. It doesn't really matter who is in
front or who is behind. If my horse completes in the time allotted and
he is in the condition where if asked, he could do it again the next
day, then I've won.
If this is our "motto" and the belief in endurance riding, then why
talk about handicaps at all?
Bob Morris was kind enough to type me a nice long letter, about the
power of believing you can succeed. It has inspired me and I only wish
Bob, you had shared it with Ridecamp. Mental attitude and self
confidence is as big a factor in success as conditioning. The rider IS
as important at the horse.
