no no no! This is most certainly not a silly question. PLEASE don't tell
people their questions are silly. Having spent several nights with a stubborn
husband who insisted that tights were for sissies (never mind that he is a
baseball coach and those bb pants aren't much different) and was rubbed raw
by his choice of pants, there are good reasons to ask that - and other -
seemingly silly questions. Certainly we don't want a newbie or a "second year
green" rider feeling put down or ridiculous. I know how that would have made
me feel - much as the English snooty riders made me feel 25 years ago when I
thought that might be a lot of fun and a challenge. It was, but I never
forgot that initial treatment. It might be a child, too.
