Glenda and anyone interested:
I thought I'd relay some of my experiences with you this summer, as I've
had five different horses with wounds at the same time!
The number one thing you can do is wash and scrub everyday!

Bad rope burn: tried cut heal ointment (not near as good as the liquid..in
fact didn't do any "good" on any of the wounds.) Tried baby oil and iodine
(scratches cure), finally went to Desitin. Worked.

Very big terrible 3" x 3" wound on front of back cannon. No skin. Washed
and scrubbed everyday. After two months, it is starting to close in. Best
stuff on it....WONDER DUST. Be very careful with Proudsoff! I did one
day and it was a big mistake! She was swollen and lame the next day, but
that was the day the healing really started to take place, so I don't know...

Cut on nose: furisin, then cut heal.

Puncture wound, not bad: neosporin, furisin with DMSO, then wonder dust.

Puncture wound, bad: still working on that one :<

Hope this helps. What I found out this summer, is wonder dust is
wonderful! Plus, it's cheap, and found at Wal-mart!

Louise Burto...TIMBERON BOUND!
