I beg your pardon? Where in my post, which you quoted in your
message, did I *in any way* criticize the Wine Country ride or it's
management? I was responding to something Bob Morris wrote. That's
why I included the disclaimer:

Every Endurance Ride is a race. That is very clear in both the
definiton of endurance rides, and the AERC rules. Not everyone
chooses to race, not everyone has the same goals, and finishing with a
healthy horse is more important than any finishing positition -- as
refelected in "To Finish is to Win." But they are races, and always
have been. And IMO rides should be managed with that basic fact
understood.
