Hi Wynne -

I think the problem with rest stops is that you can get into trouble
unloading something other than Fido there. I use the back of truck
stops and look for exits that have no buildings - where there might be a
wide quiet roadway or open field, etc. But the back side of the BIG
truck stops is my favorite because often you can "remove" yourself from
traffic. Plus I feel safer around people who make their living on the
road! Even if it's legal - you never know who is pulling into the car
stops. There was a fellow beaten to death and robbed right here on I44
outside of Joplin - and we are very low crime compared to many areas.
