Posting correctly definitely helps as far as comfort goes, both for
rider and horse. You should not have sore feet as a result of posting
and putting pressure on the stirrups. But, the stirrups (like the Cloud
stirrups) make a big difference on the longer rides. That added cushion
and width make a world of difference as far as comfort and support for
the rider. I never put a lot of pressure on the stirrups, ride with as
long a stirrup leather as possible (comes from all those dressage
lessons!), but even just having the foot resting in the stirrup have
found that the specially made ones are well worth the investment. I
learned just how wonderful the extra comfort is when I began riding
again after being laid up for a while. I can't imagine riding without a
good stirrup now.
My vote is for the Cloud stirrups!
