I've got a new set, front and rear for my gelding. I had problems with my
old set - 1st they'd rub and sore him after a while, and 2ndly - someone
'borrowed them' so they're gone. Anyway, got the new and improved, and about
10 miles into a good early conditioning ride after a long trot my gelding
went a hair off. Very very unusual for him, he's very stoic. Checked for
rocks etc, pulled the boots checking for heat, swelling and rubs and saw
none. Packed the boots anyway thinking that could be it. Walked out for a
bit and then did a little trot with no problems. My inclination was it was
the boot rubbing him a little. Anyone have similar problems or is it just
me? Haven't used them since. I also avoid using them in sandy terrain.
I'd love to use them for prevention since there are a lot of trees & brush
down where I ride, but not if they are going to sore him obviously.
