Forging and Interfering

Forging is when the horse's rear feet hit the front feet.
Interfering is when the left or right foot hits the opposit foot.

This can be caused for many different reasons. If normally the
horse does not interfer or forge, then suddenly starts, it could
be because the horse is tired.

Sometimes young horses will go through periods of interfering due
to growth and inbalance. As you train a horse and condition
properly, this type of interference usually goes away.

And don't worry about sounding foolish - the only foolish person
is the one who doesn't ask.
