The first horse I ever bought was an Arab gelding 4 years old. I knew
nothing at the time except that I wanted an Arab and "Busznin" was the
first horse I looked at and I bought him!!!

I started trail riding in the Blue Mountains and he was terrible. All
he wanted to do was be at the front and he could never walk always
jogged. I got so sick of this I put him in the paddock and bought an
old trail horse.

My husband at the time bought an Arab stallion and during one of the
trail rides was talking to a lady riding a Mule. Juanita at the time
had the most distance miles of any equine in Australia. She persuaded
him to give endurance riding a go. Not wanting to be left behind I more
or less took Busznin out of the paddock and went to a ride. The rest is
history.
Shortly after my first ride my husband and I split up. He took the dogs
(German Shepherd show dogs) and I took the horses.

I still have Busznin (he's now 19) and I still believe he is the best
horse I have ever owned. So much so that I recently bought his father
(Lycidas (imp) - 25 years old), so that I have a chance of getting more
like him. Busznin went on to complete over 5,000 klms and I only
retired him to give the youngsters a chance. If it was up to him he
would still be competing. I always use him for mustering.

I now have 11 (at last count) horses and I was hooked from that first
ride. My mare Tara is 14 and has done 6,000+ klms. I want to retire
her this year to have a foal to Lycidas. Another gelding, Elite has
over 2,000 klms and I have a very promising youngster, Sadja coming on.
She's 6 and going to be a real "goer".

Sure gets into your blood.
