What I think he meant is that a repeated calling for a certain neural
activity, and their responses, causes major changes to take place in the
muscles, and organs, they control.

I just read a paper that said endurance training causes an INCREASE in Fast
Twtich muscle types whereas high intensity exercise pushes the muscle cell
population toward slow twitch characteristics. First time I've ever heard of
the former proposition.
