Yea, we used to run stadium steps. During the cold days in early spring we
would run the steps in the gym for hours on end - that was the root cause
of my shin splints. Anyway I think coaches use it to train "guts" and how
to keep going and run through pain. Maybe that is what he ment "training
the neurons".

Truman:

Training neurons is like training morons...they simply do what they are told
and taught...nothing more, nothing less. The more you do something, the
better you become at it (hopefully)
