Sigh. You're right -- this may be the hardest part of not having a crew...

One solution? Books-on-tape! The unabridged ones are best, and they're free
from your local library. "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" may be
good for the intellect, but thrillers and mysteries work a *lot* better to
keep me awake for those long stretches of interstate.

Although I haven't done it, I hear that Cracker Barrel will let you rent
books-on-tape at one location and return them down the road at another.
