My routine is at every vet check (and sometimes between on a 100) a small
amout of grain (3/4 to a pound) mixed with brand, carrots, apples, etc. and
wet and all the hay she can eat. This helps keep the gut moving and where
about a days worth of energy is stored and can be absorbed when the gut is
moving.
