If any of you ever get the urge to ride the beautiful California coast,
you'll not find a better experience than with Lari Shea's Ricochet Ridge
Ranch. I just returned from an excursion to her ranch on the Mendocino
coast - did some horse trading and rode with Lari and her guests for
the last two days of one of her week-long horse treks. We rode the coastal
hills, the redwoods, and galloped for miles and miles along the beach.
I've never seen such an incredible string of horses - many of them half
Russian Orlov, Arabs, Thoroughbreds - big, strong, beautiful and very fit.
By the end of the week her guests had fully realized the quality of horse
they were riding. And Lari herself is the ultimate hostess and guide. She
balances the desires of her clientel with the abilities of each
individual horse, and miraculously keeps everything in balance. Personally,
I would be a nervous wreck, but she pulls it off with style and grace.
The food and lodging is also First Class. Highly recommended!

Lari has a homepage at http://www.horse-vacation.com.
