Nope. The vets do not just hand out A's. If you successfully
completed a ride with all A's then you are doing it right!
We frequently get B's in impulsion. I wish they did vet
checks out on the trail. When Magnum sees people he just
relaxes and frumps around like a rental horse. Makes him
easy to handle in camp though. At the track I think he was
thoroughly trained *not* to drag people around by their
leadropes. ;-) Heading out onto the trail he's a little
spitfire.

Sicle hocks? Your horse gets A's... don't worry about his
hocks. As my farrier likes to say "Ride him 'till he breaks
and *then* we'll fix him". I think he was really saying
"Don't go looking for trouble that ain't there."

Magnum has a sway back. I used to worry about it until I
saw a picture of his great uncle... Bold Ruler. Now I can
proudly point to his back and say "THAT is a Bold Ruler
topline!" with pride. And I have the pictures to prove
it too.
