I use a combination rein, lead rope. I made it myself. Go buy 1/2" nylon or
cotton rope and two swivel rein snaps. Page 79 item J State Line $1.25 each.
Braid the rope back into itself at each end and tape for extra security. You
can make any length you want. Works great for tailing and tying up. The nylon
is very strong, the cotton is softer at first. When the rope gets ragged or too
dirty you can just buy new rope. I don't mind my horses dragging this on the
ground when the eat and don't worry about it breaking when they step on it. It
is comfortable in my hands. You can vary the diameter as you want.
