I was having the same lead rope problems as described. I now use a cantle
bag, and made a short cotton lead that I stuff in there, but I never use
it. It is there only for the NATRC requirement. I actually use my rein as
the lead rope and my horse wears either a halter bridle or a halter under
the bridle.
However, on pleasure rides, I would really like to have a leadrope along and
tie it around the horses neck army style, but I don't know how to make the
knot so it works. Can someone help me with this? When not in competition, I
ride the hose in a pelham, so don't have a nice long rein to use as a lead,
but I can't figure out the knot.
